Project notes: August tank top

Project notes: August tank top

I don't think I shall ever crochet another garment. I don't know why I would. Knitting a) is more pleasant, b) ends up softer, c) uses less yarn, d) works up faster (for me at least... or it just feels like it does), and e) just looks so awesome. Crochet is better for amigurumi and probably other stuff too that I shall discover, but, for clothes ... I am going to switch to knitting.

Special thanks to my aunt cashtonpaints for sending the yarn! I scrounged around for a bit to find a pattern that would work on a fixed yarn supply. As it was, this project went through at least three incarnations in the past two weeks. I started with one pattern, disliked it, switched to the Easy Street Tank, made it in small because I thought I'd run out of yarn, *didn't* run out of yarn, remade it in Medium. All within two weeks. And the most amazing part is, I really didn't mind. Just thousands of stitches casually. No complaints.

New techniques and supplies gained in the last two weeks: I switched from English to Continental knitting and greatly improved my stitch quality and speed. I purchased real interchangeable knitting needles from ChiaoGoo because we happened to go into a store that carried them and I asked very, very nicely. I learned proper increases, ribbing, working in the round on circular needles.

Overall, delightful project. I shall be making many more garments.
